product description

Pressure relief remote thermostat kit fitment.

The PRRT kit A117E6115S replaces the existing return side thermostat, with an
outlet side, encapsulated, pressure relief remote thermostat, requiring that several coolant hoses and connections are replaced with those in the fitting kit.

Fitting instructions compiled by Caterpillar´s PTP division are included, and should be used in conjuction with Lotus Service Notes manueal A111T0327J.

Additional parts contained in the PRRT kit, to which the PTP literature does not refer,
comprise a short lenght of heater hose, a joiner, and clips.
These are to be fitted between th heater return pipe and the eingine connection hose,
on order to improve clearance with the PRRT plumbing.

Note that the kit is designed for cars from mid`97 onwards where the outlet hose from the eingine drops down to the bottom ot the engine bay before traversing to the right hand chassis sideframe.
On earlier cars, where the enginge outlet feeds a pipe along the right hand top of the engine bay, the following additional parts will bei required to convert to the later spac.:

- Pipe, engine outlet A111K0024F 1 off
- Junction Hose, engine outlet heater take-off A111K0029F 1 off
- `P`Clip, engine outlet pipe A111W6573F 2 off

Refill the cooling system using the recommended 50% concectration of OAT type coolant additive Havoline XLC. If this type of coolant has not previously been used,
ensure that the system is completely flushed out.
Ensure the re-filled cooling system is fully bled or air using the bleed screws on the radiator hoses and heater return rail.
Vacuum filling is strongly recommended.
